Dear Friend,

WXCRL Update 10th Sept 2009

Quick message...

Welcome to the all new WXCRL email update. Prior to the Dorset Tour the WXCRL mailing list grew so fast my emailing system buckled under the strain (I guess a 'good' problem to have). But I’m pleased to announce the WXCRL now uses Entryweb Mail a new more advanced emailing service which not only solved my initial delivery problems but gives us so much more besides.

Since the DT I seem to be as busy as ever apart from migrating over to Entryweb Mail we’ve launched the new Wessexvelo blog promoted the Cove Road Race and we’re now preparing for our last two events of the year the WXCRL Bournemouth Arrow Road Race in conjunction with the Bournemouth Arrow (Sean Conway!) this Saturday and WXCRL Autumn Road Race on the 20th Sept. Hope to see you there!

Cheers Mark

DT09 Round Up

Well can I firstly say a big thank you to everyone who rode, helped, officiated or even spectated. Overall honours went to Crispin Doyle - Swindon Road Club, after laying the foundations on Day 1, well done Crispin - great ride. A full set of results, in all competitions is available on Entryweb (scroll down to "files" and hit download against the document you want). We were blessed with good weather but more than that we established the right atmosphere, one which I hope everyone enjoyed.

WXCRL Cove Road Race

With a new tough course in and around the Lulworth Cove the scene was set for the WXCRL Cove Road Race. With 12 Elite riders out of 38 pre entered on Entryweb amongst them Tom SouthamRapha Condor, Oil BeckinsdaleGiant Racing and Marcin Bialoblocki, Ben Luckwell, Grant Bayton - Sports Beans/Wilier it was the highest quality WXCRL field this year. Eventually Oil Beckinsdale was triumphant crossing the line 45secs clear of his nearest rival.

A big mention also has to go out to all those who fought it out and finished particularly Deacon CutterhamArmy CU and the rest of the 2nd and 3rd cat riders who hung in.

Full results are on available here on Entryweb and picces from Graham Robins here

Wessexvelo

It's here, it's official the WXCRL official Blog!

http://wessexvelo.wordpress.com/

Wessexvelo is a lighthearted look at everything WXCRL. Secret resident blogger Wessexvelo has already been feverishly blogging away during the course of the Dorset Tour and recently the Cove Road Race so make sure you check out his most excellent reports. We want Wessexvelo to become a place where we can all share, contribute and engage which should ultimately make the WXCRL even better.

To help keep the posts ticking along some of you may want to write something yourself (anonymously or not). Maybe the Dorset Tour was your first stage race, or a WXCRL race was your first win, you've travelled from afar to ride a WXCRL event, or even a snippet from an outsiders point of view. Whatever it is we want to hear from you so send it in! Over the course of time we'll be adding to the blog, making enhancements and spreading the word...
