Dear Friend, WXCRL Update 20th Sept 2009
WXCRL Autumn RR Round Up
This Sunday's WXCRL Autumn Road Race was the last WXCRL event of the season. With warm sunny weather pre-booked (online) Tim Dunford – Team Torq took the honours from OffCamber’s Paul Hopkins and the evergreen Roland Tilley – Ride
the best finisher from the break caught in the last few meters.
Tilley and WXCRL 2009 winner Richard Eastham – Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers were on the attack again along with Andrew Bryson – DHCyclesport and it looked as though the winner would come from these three. Alas, they were swallowed up by the bunch with meters to go with Dunford and Hopkins managing to overhaul Tilley and Bryson before the line.

So where did you end up?
The Final 2009 WXCRL Points Table has now been updated after our last race. 134 members won points across 20 events.
With Eastham already secured as champ and Steve Dring - Echelon - Spiuk ineligible to ride the last 2 WXCRL events it gave others the chance to scramble up the table. In the end Dring held onto his second place but Barry Clewett - Bournemouth Arrow gained one place finishing up 3rd and Tilley's late season charge catapulted him to 4th place just one point shy of fellow Vet Clewett.
Clewett boosted his points total by 25 points because his Dad, Bob had marshalled on 5 separate occasions, without Bob we might not have been able to run those races. In total 18 members won points through either organising, marshalling or driving.

A Big Thank You!
I just would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has help and contributed to the new WXCRL this year. In particular;
Every Rider – Without you there would be no race!
Gerry Gray – Who has been at every single WXCRL race this year
Graham Hurst – whose enthusiasm and willingness has no bounds
Colin Price – for exemplary WXCRL services during a tough year
Graeme Gale – for our very own NEG Valentino Rossi
Kris Carpenter – The man for whom we don’t actually want to get busy
Marty Rabbitte, Brian Johnston, Colin Docker, Julian James, Steve Wallington, Martyn Baker, Ross Mackenzie, Rob Jefferies, Eddie Beck, Pete Whild, Andy Kirk, Andy Wilcox, David Walters and the Tea Ladies – for your time and services throughout the season + all the marshals, drivers and everyone else I’ve missed off of this list...
And finally our Sponsors and Supporters – who have all helped to spread the word and offer their support, products, cash and services to the WXCRL.
Some events have been tough finding help but somehow we got there. Personally Dad and I we were particularly pleased with the 3 events run by our affiliated clubs who all did magnificent jobs. A big pat on the back has to go out too;
Dave Goddard – Dorset Rough Riders who organised the Dorset Rough Riders MTB race in May
Graham Hurst – Poole Wheelers who organised the WXCRL Nick Bateson Memorial Road Race back in June and
Sean Conway – Bournemouth Arrow who organised the WXCRL Bournemouth Arrow Road Race a few weeks back.
