Yes, we're back!
Hello, we're back! You could be forgiven for wondering where we've been, the truth is after a long time consuming 2009 season Dad and I had to return to the non-cycling side of life and our day job
, yes we do have other commitments and no I didn't jet off to Necker Island to spend the winter their, it was if truth be told mainly spent in the equally posh sourroundings of Tarrent Gunville at our workshop! In fact why not read a little more about us in an article titled Inside the Wessex Cycle Racing League by Wessexvelo on Wessexvelo.
My heart wanted to expand our race programme in 2010 but my head soon brought me back to reality - it's just not possible at the moment to commit to much more than we did in 2009, which is why the number of WXCRL promotions are pretty much the same as 2009.
Early on we had planned to resurrect the Tour of Cranborne Chase 2 Day but for the reasons above, it got the chop this season - maybe we'll be in a position to do it next year, we'll see.
Nevertheless you can now check out our 2010 events list, with our first event not to far away on 13th March at Barnsfield.
Cheers, Mark Standhaft

Richard and Richard take trophies
Richard Eastman - Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers WXCRL winner in 2009 wins the Ray Price Memorial Cup.
The Ray Price Memorial Cup has traditionally been awarded to the winner of the Tour of Cranborne Chase. We'd like to thank Greg Roche at Sabbath Bicycles for sending it down, Greg was the last winner of the TofCC back in 2005 and the Cup had been with him ever since!
Richard Horton - Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers wins the QinetiQ Cup for the most improved rider of the WXCRL 2009 season. Richard was undoubtedly one of the stars of our inaugural year starting off the season as a Youth and finishing off racing alongside the likes of Tom Southam - Rapha Condor at the Cove Road Race and picking up a win at WXCRL QinetiQ Evening Series 4.
Congratulations Richard and Richard, now we'd better send those cups off to the engravers...

WXCRL 2009 Entry Stats
Check out last season's entry statistics here. It's promising to see nearly 80% of you entering online against just 2% using snail mail during our first full season. It's also interesting to see how big the percentage of riders entering with less than 7 days to the actual race date is.

Sotonia CC & CC Weymouth affiliate
The WXCRL would like to welcome two more affiliated clubs, the Sotonia CC and CC Weymouth. The Sotonia are promoting two full WXCRL events this season - WXCRL Sotonia Heath Race 2010 (1/2)
on 25/05/2010 and WXCRL Sotonia Heath Race 2010 (2/2) on 01/06/2010 on the Hythe circuit in the New Forest.
The Portland Port Lloyd Coward Memorial Road Race organised by the CC Weymouth will be a WXCRL counting event in 2010, so WXCRL points will be up for grabs. This event will be online soon once everything has been finalised...

The WXCRL on You Tube
I filmed the last four race finishes from last year (DT09, Cove, Autumn and BACC). So rather than hogging my hard drive space I thought it would be cool to create our very own WXCRL You Tube Channel so I've uploaded them to the Web for everyone to now see.
The main objective was to get the finishing positions and numbers so some are filmed from the rear so don't expect any glamorous helicopter TDF style sequences but I'm sure they'll be worth showing friends, family and team-mates (especially if you won!).

Entryweb's URL
Entryweb's URL is now http://www.entryweb.co.uk/ not https, so if you had the old URL saved as a bookmark you'll just need to remove the (s) in the https part. Going to the old address may result in your browser giving you a warning error. After a review we decided not to apply the encryption certificate to the entire site, as before. It was making the site slow at times and causing a few niggley problems when there was no good reason to encrypt the page. Payments (credit/debit card details) are still handled by SagePay within their secure environment.
